The Bionic Woman

I didn’t have high hopes for “The Bionic Woman” (NBC), but I had nothing else to watch on Wednesday night. It turned out to be pretty good, and I’ve been watching it every week now without fail. Partially because the leading actress, Michelle Ryan, is terribly attractive, and partially because Katee Sackhoff of “Battlestar Galactica” is in it. Be honest now, who ever thought that Katee Sackhoff would turn out hot?

On Battlestar, Sackhoff spends all of her time in an unflattering flight suit, wearing no makeup and swearing at people more often than not. Excellent writing and interesting character development there (I would care less about a female Starbuck otherwise), but not particularly sexy. Now, she shows up on Bionic Woman and she’s suddenly hot. And funny. I wouldn’t have guessed her for either, but I’m happily surprised.

But I digress… I was very aggravated when “Phenomenon” pre-empted Bionic Woman. I have no interest whatsoever in Criss Angel, but NBC is all like, “You need two hours of this crap from a guy who can’t spell his own fake name right.” Everybody knows that David Blaine is better. I’d much rather be getting my weekly Jaime Sommers fix, but instead there’s nothing good on until Sci-Fi Friday. S’not fair. Guess I’ll just have to wait until next week…
