Addicted to Twitter

I signed up for Twitter a few months back, and I’m hopelessly addicted now. I find myself checking my Twitter feed about ten times a day: reading replies from friends to people I don’t know, checking those people’s feeds, adding them to my own friends list if they look interesting. I don’t mind the jones, since I enjoy it, but does anybody outside of the “Twitterverse” read my entries (“tweets”, as they’re called)?
Well, now you have to. I found a WordPress plugin that will post my tweets as a daily blog post. I’m not going to use it though, because I don’t want my blog to be filled up with Twitter digests (I saw a site like that recently, and it wasn’t pretty). However, I might post a “best of” list as I see fit. Below is the first installment. Redundant data or a poignant look into my psyche?
Just watched the trailer for the new Incredible Hulk movie. This is what Ang Lee’s crappy version should have been. http://snurl.com/21op5
How did I miss the StarCraft 2 preview a couple of days ago? Finally, Blizzard gives us something other than WoW. http://snurl.com/21okj
It would be nice to have text markup in Twitter. I mean, *italics* would be beneficial to the sarcastic, but it could be used for *evil*.
@rfelix Check out Matt Moylan’s site for his custom Transformers avatars. They’re under the “Goodies” link. http://www.lilformers.com
I’ve got Sandy set up to work with Twitter and my multiple email addresses. Now I just need to learn to use it effectively as a GTD tool.
I un-followed @DarthVader, but it looks like he’s making updates again. Well, a bunch on March 8th, but nothing since. Pace yourself, Darth!
@mickmel The Chumby looks pretty cool. My wireless network is a little flaky though, which would render it useless. http://www.chumby.com
Jillian just flipped out and spouted a stream of expletives on the Biggest Loser. Jillian is like a mother lioness protecting her cub.
@rfelix I read somewhere that the new SG1 movie had a disappointing ending, but I’m going to Netflix it anyway. It will set up the next one.
A coworker’s spell checker replaced a mis-spelled “inconvenience” with “incontinence”. So her email said, “Sorry for your incontinence…”.
Henry-freakin’-Rollins has a Twitter account. He’s so cool. Not sure if I should follow, since it’s mostly concert dates that I can’t go to.
I’m going to give “I Want Sandy” a try. I’ve sat through a couple of GTD seminars, but I’d like a reminder tool that can call my phone.
Aiden got the nickname “Biggus Guyus”, which is Roman for “Big Guy”, after we watched History of the World, Part I. It’s stuck for 9 months.
I’m impressed with the Metrotitan knockoff, even if these pics make it look pink. The shipping is rediculous though.
“Twitter Tools” for WordPress should not be sending “new blog post” tweets if I’m only updating old blog posts… Did that twice today.
“Starship Troopers 3″ looks… awful. But I loves me some Jolene Blalock. Heinlein is rolling in his grave right now. http://snurl.com/21f8y
Lost a blog entry this weekend. Spent about an hour writing it, and then the body just disappeared after it published. Might rewrite today.
Tried Vanilla Zero tonight. Not awful, but not as good as regular Vanilla Coke. At $4.50 for a 12-pack, I can’t afford to enjoy it too much.
Settling in to watch the season finale of Stargate Atlantis. Or rather, play UT3 now and then fastforward through all the commercials later.
I’ve never seen a Lego figure saunter quite like Catwoman does in this clip. I need to try one of these Lego games. http://snurl.com/214ml
@linuxchic rsync rules. Until someone uses it to wipe out all content on a dozen web servers and you spend two days cleaning up the mess.
“Don’t beg for things. Do it yourself. Or else you won’t get anything.” Holland Novak, as originally told by Adrock Thurston (Eureka Seven)
I must agree with @doshdosh – twhirl is pretty nice. I didn’t want to install AIR before it went live (no betas!), but I like the interface.
The entertainment blogs are abuzz. They say Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer and has only 5 weeks to live. What would I do with 5 weeks?
I’m seriously looking at using WordPress as a CMS, but I need to work out the bugs. Lots of plugins make it easier. http://snurl.com/2113g
@despotes I think that my wife would kill me if I Twittercast the birth of Baby 2.0. I guess we’ll find out in July, but I should ask first.
Gary Gygax is dead? Say it isn’t so! I remember the original D&D games fondly. He was just in “Code Monkeys” too. http://tinyurl.com/262mqt
Just finished watching an hour-long “Jon and Kate Plus Eight” special with Chrissy. Those kids are so cute. Not as cute as my boy though.
Am I the only one that gets wrinkled Dockers No-Wrinkle shirts? They come right out of the dryer like that. Is there a trick to this?

Anyone who uses twitter should automatically have 15% of their paycheck deducted.
I disagree. I’ve met several contacts via Twitter that have been very helpful with my work. I talk with C# programmers, one ColdFusion programmer, and several SEO people. They constantly share links to new content that is very relevant to my job. Part of my position is to learn new things about the industry that I can then in turn apply to my work, and this is simplified by the friends that I’ve met on Twitter.
