Chrissy Wants To Grow Vegetables In The Backyard
Last year, Chrissy’s mom had a very productive vegetable garden. Chrissy likes the idea of having fresh vegetables that we don’t have to pay for, so this summer we are going to have a vegetable garden too.
We started off with a batch of seedlings growing in a plastic rack. Chrissy has them on the dining room table in front of the window so they get plenty of sun. They are sprouting much better than I would have expected, because green things tend to die around us.
Chrissy would like to have a raised planting bed for the backyard. I’m going to build two of them myself, three foot long by four foot wide, out of cedar. I’ve already watched a couple building tutorials online, so I don’t think that it will be too difficult (famous last words).
I’ll keep you updated on the progress of our new vegetable garden. Expect to see regular posts, assuming that the entire plant bed does not die off in the first few weeks. It won’t be my fault!
