Aiden Starts T-Ball Again With Fall Ball

Aiden has started playing t-ball again.  He liked playing t-ball so much in the summer that we decided to sign him up for Fall Ball.  This is pretty much the same as regular t-ball, except the games will go from late August until early October.  It’s going to start getting dark earlier soon, so they want to get as much playtime in each game as possible before the sun goes down.

Aiden got a new hat and a new t-shirt for his uniform. The new hat has a stylized bat on it because his Fall Ball team is called the Bats. We also got Aiden a new baseball bat for the fall.  He already owns a kid-sized mitt, so we got a smaller bat that he would be more comfortable with.  Aiden really likes it, but he doesn’t want any of the other kids to touch his new bat.

Aiden hits the ball!

The teams are made up of kids from t-ball as well as the “rookie” teams from the summer session.  This is because there are not enough kids signed up, so they combine older kids with younger kids to fill out the rosters.  Because there are older kids on the team, maybe a year or two older than Aiden, the coach gives them the option to hit from a pitcher instead of from the tee.

Aiden has never batted from the pitcher before.  He tried it during the first game, but I think that he’s intimidated.  After a few strikes, the umpire sets up the tee.  We’ll have to practice in the back yard.  Hopefully, by the end of the fall season, Aiden will be hitting from the pitcher full time.  I’m not sure how this will work out once he goes back to t-ball in the summer though.
